An increased workload with flexible working arrangements and more in-house Client meetings, coupled with new lease negotiations provided a window of opportunity to move to a larger office with Wow! appeal, better suited to R&T’s Hotdesking and teamwork approach. All LCC had to do was supply and install a Mitel telephone system, a high-speed 1Gbps Ruckus WiFi system to allow 30+ staff to roam throughout the offices on a 1Gbps Fibre Internet from BT Openreach. Lastly, LCC had to commission a Cat6 high-speed Structured Cabling system to include 4 Conference Rooms/Booths and a large Break-Out area for informal staff and Client discussions with 15 days to carry-out the work.
LCC installed a Mitel 3300CXi System with Hotdesking Featurephones, Polycom Audio Conferencing, Cat6 Structured Cabling and instructed BT Openreach to attend and install the Internet service as there was already fibre in this large, Farringdon Road building. Upon BT Openreach’s first visit with LCC’s Project Manager, the anticipated fibre equipment was nowhere to be seen.
We escalated the Fibre Installation and four BT Openreach/LCC visits later, the only way of presenting the fibre is from the roof by abseiling down the building. In the meantime, R&T were moving in 3 days and it looked like there would be no Internet for emails and telephones, which would have been a disaster in the making.
With the minimum of fuss, R&T asked LCC for a short-term solution and LCC surveyed the site. Three specialist Transceivers offering a combined speed of 120Mbps were installed for Voice, Data and WiFi. It is early days but the connection has been faultless as a 3.5GHz Radio Mast is nearby.
Following up to our case study on Richmond & Towers, we have now successfully installed a 100Mbps uncontended Leased Circuit at the award-winning PR and digital communications firm.
Whilst the abseiling team were lowering cable from the fourth floor of the seven story building, BT Openreach engineers were on the pavement blowing fibre to connect the offices to the local BT exchange.
By lunchtime - four hours ahead of schedule - all of the work had been completed giving the Richmond & Towers team a much faster service and more enjoyable experience.
