Flat Iron Square is a new foodie hub in Bankside, taking over seven railway arches, Grade II listed building Devonshire House and the surrounding area. A tantalising line-up of bars, food vendors, restaurants, street food trucks, outdoor space and a live music venue come together to create a casual and vibrant environment.
Omeara is a unique space within Flat Iron Square offering a quality 350-capacity gig venue and club space to London plus a wide array of experiences from indie club nights, comedy and burlesque.
The Challenge
Omeara and Flat Iron Square needed fast Fibre Internet with high-availability WiFi throughout the 40,000sq ft venue for point-of-sale, guests, CCTV and staff. Some applications needed unique WiFi networks with guaranteed bandwidths visible throughout the venue spaces. Multiple traders required dedicated bandwidth for their wireless point of sale systems along with public WiFi within all seven railway arches and outside spaces.
Our Solution
At short notice, we project managed our 1Gbps Fibre Internet installation working with the fit-out team to pre-install the tubing infrastructure, significantly speeding up the BT Openreach provisioning process. Once installed, we split the 1 Gigabit bandwidth at the network level using our managed gateways, essentially providing multiple, dedicated Fibre connections to deal with a complex set-up plus the capacity to grow with the venue.
Our Enterprise-grade Ruckus WiFi Zone Director and Access Points provide solid WiFi access throughout the venue spaces for all payment systems, staff, CCTV and guests. We adapt the bandwidths remotely as the requirements and Events change.
The venue has since expanded with the addition of the Apres Ski Lodge, Wine Bar and further buildings on Southwark Street all taking advantage of the future-proofed and highly reliable infrastructure.
The Flat Iron Square destination has been a huge success attracting around 10,000 visitors per week with gigs, food outlets and large scale outdoor screening events such as Wimbledon tennis and World Cup football.
